Balrampur Foundation

Balrampur Foundation was setup to provide impetus to various philanthropic initiatives for Balrampur Chini Mills Limited.

A not-for-profit initiative aimed at inter-alia fulfilling the social responsibility of Balrampur Chini Mills Limited, Balrampur Foundation creates opportunities and strives towards a more equitable society.

Established in 2001, the foundation supports programs in the areas of education, rural development, healthcare, sustainability, environment, etc. Its mission is to work in remote regions of the country.

The CSR vision of the Foundation is ‘to bring social and economic change to the underprivileged sections of the society equitably and sustainably’ and to contribute to livelihood enhancement initiatives for the weaker sections of the society.

This involves renovating government schools, providing essential infrastructure, teaching aid equipment, and mobile science labs to create a better learning environment.

Healthcare and Sanitation initiatives focus on providing accessible medical services to communities in Gularia, Babhnan, Balarampur, and Haidergarg. These areas are equipped with four units offering essential facilities, including oxygen plants, health camps, antenatal childcare-centers, and community healthcare centers.

Empowering Women

Laxmi Devi, supported by Balarampur Foundation's Nai Umeed project, started Usha Silai School, overcoming debt and poverty. She now earns well, trains others, and invests in her business.

Fighting Odds With Education

Anushka’s father, Pawan is a native of Kimadi village, Dehradun, Uttarakhand. Pawan drives a truck for a vehicle owner. Sometimes when there is not enough work for the owner, he works as casual labor.

Creating Farmpreneurs

Mr. Ragbeer, a Lucknow University graduate, turned to farming due to family circumstances. With Balrampur Foundation's help, he now farms full-time, finding success and contentment.

Strengthening Health Care

Balrampur Foundation aided Shilpi Devi, enabling affordable maternal care near her village, supporting impoverished families by renovating the ANM center. Grateful, she delivered safely and thanked them.

Environment

Balrampur Foundation promoted plantation in community spaces. It involved students, farmers and others in plantation drives. More than 1,50,000 saplings were planted to ensure greenery in the future in the region. This amounts to the effective afforestation of 50 acres of land.

Fighting Odds With Education

Princy, a class 9 student, attends Agastya sessions that sparked her interest in science. Online sessions during the pandemic improved her knowledge. Aspires to be an IAS officer.
