Empowering Women Through Usha Silai School: Pooja Tripathi's Inspiring Journey

Pooja Tripathi established Usha Silai School with the help of the Balrampur Foundation’s Project Nayi Umeed. Her husband owns agricultural land as well as a small business. During the COVID-19 period, their family income had become negligible, and both Pooja and her husband were looking for opportunities to earn a decent living.

Volunteers from Usha International Ltd.- helped her join seven days of basic training and become a certified Usha- BPF Silai School teacher. She also received a motorised Usha Sewing machine, with a signage board, syllabus book, service manual, sewing kit, and a teacher’s certificate through the sponsorship of Balrampur Foundation.

She has ten students coming to her school. They do simple sewing work for their community members. This contributes to her monthly income of about Rs. 4800.

Mrs. Pooja has acquired 3 Sewing machines and is running her school successfully. Pooja also said that she would not want to stop here. She wants to make her school a production center and herself self- independent & self-reliant.
